Passion I like: reading, buying cheap shiny things from dollar stores, watching action films, eating refined sugar, rating moustaches, dancing, talking to strangers, arranging plastic flowers, making something out of nothing.
Role model(s) I'm inspired by people with vision, people who have no desire to be famous, people who find beauty in the small details of daily life.
Tell us something about your background I grew up in the Canadian prairies, which really is the middle of nowhere! I spent my childhood surrounded by wheat fields, men in shockingly tight acid-wash jeans, Camaros and religious fanatics.
How did you get to where you are? I have no idea, seriously! But I think it might have something to do with extreme hyperactivity. Photography calms me down, so I have to spend a lot of time doing it. Otherwise, I will go crazy!
How long have you been working in the (design) industry? I have been shooting photographs since I was in my early teens, and I have been working professionally as a photographer for just over a year.
What inspires your photography, and what factors influence the further growth and development of your art? My photography is very design-oriented, I sketch most of my images before I shoot them. I love colour more than anything, so I spend a lot of time planning colour combinations in advance. I don't know exactly what inspires my photography; I turn the analytical part of my brain completely off when I am working, and allow my natural visual instincts to take over. .

Did you have a formal design education or are you a self taught? I studied commercial photography in Toronto for two years.

What is the project you are the most proud of? My first solo exhibition, Girlification, which opened this summer.
What are the projects you are currently working on? What are your plans for the future? I am currently working on a number of projects, but everything is a secret for now. Lots of new photos coming in the very near future!
How are you influenced by your Habitat? The winters are long and cold here, and I live in an isolated neighbourhood. When I look outside my window all I see is a lake that stretches endlessly to the horizon. It is very important for me to be close to nature (even in a city), and to be physically removed from potential distractions. This allows me to work in a very concentrated way.
Finish this sentence - If little things start to overwhelm you, destroy everything and embrace simplicity.
