| Tell us something about your background My first environmental graphics project was a mural design competition I won when I was 7. My mural was painted on a prominent wall of my school. I got to admire it every day and it gave me the early encouragement in having my artwork out there for all to see. I had my own desk at 3, and have always made cards, artworks, posters, clothing... anything. My career choice was easy! |
| How did you get to where you are? Lots of study, experimentation, dedication and long hours at work. |
| How long have you been working as a freelancer?
What's it like being your own boss? I've had my business on the side since I was at Uni. I have gone full-time with my business this year. I really enjoy the flexibility and challenges that being your own boss brings. You also get to a stage where you can be selective in the work you want to pursue. |
| What inspires you, and what factors influence
the further growth and development of your style? Time to experiment, overseas travel, and challenging clients. |
Did you have a formal education or are you
a self taught? |
| What is the project you are the most proud of? Hard to say... perhaps the work I did for Café Culture's exhibition design. I got that feeling back from when I was young, of seeing my artwork on the walls and hearing people say amongst themselves how much they loved it. |
| What are the projects you are currently working
on? What are your plans for the future? Current projects are broad, but include being a conceptual / design consultancy to agencies, environmental design, motion and marketing projects. I'd like to specialise in environmental design, working with architects and interior designers. Plus aiming to get my work published more. |
| Finish this sentence If little things were done to improve the environment by everyone every day, then world would be a better place. Sad... but true! We all have to take responsibility. |
